Porcelain veneers are a simple and effective way to correct minor dental problems, such as stained, chipped, or slightly damaged teeth. This process is completed by covering the tooth's surface and enamel with a thin layer of ceramic porcelain. This tedious and precise process requires the skilled hand of an experienced and talented dentist. So don't choose just any dentist, choose the best; Robbie Smith, DDS.
While tooth veneers cannot repair highly damaged or completely broken teeth, dental crowns are usually the solution for more severe problems), they can repair minor damages to a tooth. This is why porcelain veneers are a common solution for giving our patients a whiter, more beautiful smile. And as with our natural tooth-colored fillings, dental crowns and caps can be colored to match porcelain veneers to complete the perfect, attractive smile.
Porcelain Veneers installed by Robbie Smith DDS will usually last for many years while other, less expensive alternatives will likely need frequent repairs and maintenance.

A Note From Robbie
"One of the most talked about procedures in dentistry today revolves around how to create that perfect, straight, white smile. In many cases, patients come to my practice just to find out if they are a candidate for porcelain veneers because they have a friend or relative who had them done or have read that their favorite actor had veneers.
In many cases, what the patient is seeing and hearing about is actually some form of smile enhancement that has been created by a skilled dentist which is much more complicated than simply placing veneers. Technically, a true veneer is simply a thin shell of porcelain that is bonded to very minimally prepared enamel. This means that the shape, size and placement of their teeth have to be ideal prior to the veneer placement and that the only issue being dealt with is replacing the outer layer of enamel on an otherwise ideal tooth. In my fourteen years of practice, there have been less than a handful of cases that actually meet those requirements.
The process of creating a perfect smile using porcelain veneers is much more involved and requires a dentist with impeccable skill and understanding of ideal smile proportions, tooth size, jaw size requirements, facial features, etc. So, what we are looking at most of the time involves using much more porcelain to wrap around a tooth which allows for reshaping, lengthening, and even repositioning of teeth to achieve this beautiful, perfectly enhanced smile line. This has been one of the most exciting and rewarding aspects of my practice, and I love educating patients on all of the aspects of smile design and enhancement.
Most importantly, I want to understand in depth what exactly each individual patient is looking for to make their smile better in their own eyes. My vision may not always be what their vision is, and it’s extremely important that we both be on the same page with what is wanted and what can actually be accomplished. Good communication between dentists and their patients always yields exceptional results. I look forward to meeting with you and discussing any and every concern you may have with your teeth, oral health, and the vision you have for your perfect smile."
